Well… several weeks have passed since we visited New Orleans now two years after the flooding.
I must say it is still very hard to keep a dry eye, knowing our family has a dry and warm place to sleep and Fellow Human beings are still sleeping under highway overpasses and in condemned-infested buildings or on the open bare ground.
The ghosts of the people lost; the haunting story the debris tells; the vacant looks. How in this great country does this continue?
A place ravished by sickness, drugs, violence, destruction, immorality, poverty and disease.
Yet with hope… hope for a new tomorrow.
Please let the compassion, the joy, the fervor for life, the support for your fellow neighbor, the intentional desire to make this world a better place, fill your life in this New Year.
Please do not accept mediocrity, do not accept complacency, do not accept status quo.
Unite with each other, renew your values, move forward and stand for something, stand with integrity.
Call on your brothers, your neighbors, your family and your friends.
There is power in unity, move forward in life with passion, a zeel in your existence.
Protect each other, take care of each other, help those in need.
We must take care of the people, help the hurting, soften the hearts of the angry, action kindness for WE MUST STAND UNITED against adversity.
Go to church and thank God for your loved ones; thank God for your blessings, count them one by one.
I challenge you to be the best human being you can be from this day forward.
Go now… with ACTION!
